For the sixth consecutive year, Intermountain Health’s adult transplant program is celebrating a record-breaking year in 2024, which resulted in hundreds of saved lives of people in the Mountain West through generous live and deceased organ donations from across the country.

Gabriel Ryan wasn’t supposed to live. The Goodhue, Minnesota, toddler was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease before birth. The disorder is usually fatal. But young Gabriel has defied the odds.

By donating his kidney, Eric Ryan helped save two lives: the person who received his organ, and also his 1-year-old son.
